Para Rabbi Hanalei Laner
Inspired and influenced by Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach and Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi, Hanalei co-founded Havurah Gesher Ohr in 1983, and was a founding member of The Jewish Renewal Community of Boulder (now Nevei Kodesh). She has served as a spiritual leader in the Jewish Renewal Movement and as a Jewish educator in Boulder, Colorado since 1988, receiving the title of Para Rabbi by her mentor, Reb Zalman, in 2002.
Winner of the Chidush award for Innovation and Creativity in Jewish Education in 2002, 2004, and 2005 (http://www.weaverfoundation.org/weaver_award1.html), Hanalei ignites a spark in children and adults alike. Known for her excellence as a teacher of Hebrew, she brings a deep commitment to Jewish education and touches many lives with her gifts. She also serves as a cantorial soloist and is a student in the Aleph Rabbinic Program.
